How to reorder PDF pages in 4 steps

FreePDFLab runs entirely in your browser, so the steps below happen on your device without anything being uploaded to a server.

  1. Upload your PDF

Drop the PDF onto the upload area or click to browse. FreePDFLab loads it locally so the reorder happens on your device.

  2. Type the new page order

Enter the new order as a comma-separated list, for example 3,1,2,4. The new PDF will contain pages in exactly that sequence — duplicates are removed automatically.

  3. Process the reorder

Click "Process". FreePDFLab copies the pages into the new sequence using pdf-lib, preserving original quality and embedded fonts.

  4. Preview and download

Preview the rearranged PDF in the inline viewer to confirm the order is right, then download the reordered file.

Why reorder PDF pages with FreePDFLab

Quick way to fix scan order

Documents scanned in the wrong sequence are the #1 reason people reorder pages. A few keystrokes are faster than re-scanning the whole pile.

Lossless reorder

Pages are copied into the new sequence without re-rendering, so text stays selectable, images stay sharp, and embedded fonts remain intact.

No upload, total privacy

Reordering happens locally. The PDF is never uploaded to a server, which makes the tool safe for confidential or sensitive content.

No registration, no watermark

Free without an account and free without a watermark on the output. There is no daily limit on the number of reorders.

Frequently asked questions

How do I enter the new page order?

As a comma-separated list of page numbers in the order you want them to appear. For example, "3,1,2,4" produces a PDF where page 3 is first, then page 1, then 2, then 4.

What happens if I leave a page out of the list?

Pages not in the list are excluded from the output, which is a quick way to combine reorder and delete in one operation.

Can I duplicate a page by listing it twice?

No. Duplicates are filtered automatically. To duplicate pages, use the "Add Blank Pages" tool combined with a merge.

Does the reorder change the file size?

No, the file size stays essentially the same — only the page sequence is changed. The output PDF is the same size as the input plus a few hundred bytes of metadata.

Is my PDF uploaded during the reorder?

No. The reorder runs in your browser. The PDF stays on your device and the new file is generated locally.

Can I reorder a password-protected PDF?

Only PDFs that open without a password can be reordered. Encrypted PDFs need to be unlocked first.
